New for 2023, the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 is Pulsar’s first thermal riflescope with high-definition capabilities, delivering unparalleled imaging and a plethora of upgrades. The core of the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 is the European-made uncooled a-Si Lynred <35 NETD thermal sensor that offers a remarkable 1024x768 resolution and a 12µm pixel pitch. This high-definition sensor can detect the smallest differences in temperature at 2515 yards (2300 meters) and can easily cut through rain, fog, and vegetation. The powerful uncooled a-Si Lynred sensor’s capabilities are further enhanced by an HD F50/1.0 germanium lens, as well as adjustable sensitivity, ergonomic focusing wheels, and advanced filtration algorithms. Heat signatures are projected onto a high-contrast 1024x768 AMOLED display and are viewable in 8 distinct color palettes for adapting the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 to various conditions. This combination of technology results in the highest level of thermal imaging in any of Pulsar’s thermal optics to date, allowing the user to observe potential game from extreme distances and identify trophy characteristics in stunning detail.
In addition to its impressive optics and HD sensor, the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 offers a 14° x 10.5° field of view – the widest FOV in the entire Thermion series. This is perfectly complemented by the XL50’s substantial magnification of 1.75x to 14x and digital zoom which can be adjusted in increments of 2, 4, and 8. The broad FOV is maintained across the entire zoom range, as well as the image quality thanks to the advanced optics and HD sensor. The Thermion 2 LRF XL50 is also outfitted with an integrated laser range finder along with an internal ballistics calculator to ensure maximum accuracy at extended range.
Other features of the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 include a BT wireless remote which mimics the standard control buttons of the rifle scope. The remote features excellent ergonomics and requires minimal effort to operate the scope. This allows the user to concentrate on the hunt, and the remote can be placed on any convenient position on the rifle. In addition, the Thermion 2 LRF XL50 is both photo and video capable. The Thermion 2 LRF XL50 offers 64 GB of space for storing pictures and videos, which can then be transferred to a compatible device via Pulsar’s proprietary Stream Vision app.
